Year End Accounts
A set of Year End Accounts is essential for any business giving you valuable insight into the health of your business and facilitating future planning.
Sole Traders and Partnerships are legally required to prepare annual accounts. Companies, limited liability partnerships and other bodies have extra responsibility under the Companies Acts and other legislations.
For some it will form part of a Self Assessment Return and for Limited Companies will fulfil their filing requirements with companies House and give a basis on which any tax calculations will be made.
Banks and other funding bodies often require a set of independently prepared accounts before any funding applications will be considered.
Management Accounts
Benefits of annual accounts can be limited if you are only looking at your accounts once a year. Many companies large and small engage an accountant to produce monthly/quarterly management accounts.
A more regular review of a business’s finance helps control costs, compare budgets with forecasts, help with cash planning, monitor working capital and identify seasonal variations. Management accounts can be used to encourage banks and financiers to help raise funds, help secure credit with suppliers, avoids big surprises at the end of the year and focus managers and staff on targets.
Book keeping & Payroll
Keeping a set of accounts up to date is essential for any business but for many business owners this is not their priority as they have the core operation of their entity to focus on.
